Chlorine Granules for Hot Tubs and Spas
- Initial Dose: Add 6 teaspoons per 500 gallons of water.
- Each teaspoon (0.17 oz) provides approximately 1.4 ppm available chlorine in 500 gallons.
- Dissolves quickly and completely.
- Controls algae and kills bacteria.
Usage Instructions:
- Test and adjust water to pH 7.2-7.8, total alkalinity 60-100 ppm, and calcium hardness 200 ppm minimum.
- Maintain these levels with regular testing.
- Avoid cyanuric acid levels exceeding 150 ppm.
- Drain spa every 30-90 days, more often under heavy use.
- Check compatibility of chlorine sanitizers with spa equipment.
- Avoid oils, lotions, fragrances, and cleaners that may cause foaming or cloudiness.
Start-Up (Freshly Filled):
- Activate circulation system and ensure proper operation.
- Add 6 teaspoons per 500 gallons of water.
- Check free available chlorine (FAC); repeat if below 4-5 ppm.
- Do not re-enter spa if chlorine levels exceed 3 ppm.
